Twenty-sixth Sunday after Pentecost 2024

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
in light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
most blessed, most glorious, O Ancient of Days,
almighty, victorious, your great name we praise.

O God, as you have inspired men from the beginning of time to live lives of faith and hope, so now, create in our men a new zeal for wisdom, repentance, passionate service, unconditional love, and Christian values. Grant that our men will be reflections of Jesus Christ, hungering for the Word and thirsting after your righteousness! In your blessed name we humbly pray. Amen.

The world’s human community began with one man. The redemption of humanity was wrought by one man. Today, we celebrate the contributions of strong, godly men to our community.

We celebrate men who, with the wisdom of Solomon, seek God’s perfect plan for their lives and the lives they influence.

We appreciate men who, with the spirit of David, seek repentance, as men after God’s own heart.

We acknowledge men who, with the obedience of Abraham, follow God’s direction, shape the lives of their families, and ultimately change the world.

We honor men who, like Peter, are fallible yet passionate about serving the Lord and fervently building his Kingdom.

As Joseph cared for his father and brothers, we care for the men of our community by generously sharing our resources, our time, and our unconditional love.

We pray for men who have the inner and outward strength of Samson but have lost their way.

We’re grateful for men who, like the apostle Paul, teach us Christian principles and values.

As young and older men, we often carry heavy burdens – the pressure of providing for our families, the challenges of leadership, and the constant battles against temptation. In times like these, prayers become our refuge and strength.

Dear God, I humbly approach your throne of grace, seeking your guidance and wisdom for the spiritual growth and strength of men of all ages. May they be filled with your Holy Spirit, empowered to walk in righteousness and true holiness.

Lord, I pray that they have a deep and authentic relationship with you, knowing you intimately and experiencing your love and grace. Help them to seek your face daily, turning away from sin and pursuing true godliness. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and grant them the courage to stand firm in the face of temptation and trials.

May they be men of integrity, shining your light in a dark world. You may shape their character that they may be men of honor and virtue, uplifting those around them, and inspiring others to live with honesty and righteousness. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen

Heavenly Father, I lift up the emotional well-being and mental health of men. Lord, I pray that you would touch their hearts and minds, bringing healing and restoration to any areas of struggle or brokenness.

I ask that you release your divine touch upon their emotions, bringing healing and wholeness to any wounds or traumas they may have experienced. May your peace wash over them like a soothing balm, calming any anxieties or fears that may be weighing them down.

Father, I pray that you would show them the power of vulnerability and the importance of seeking help and support when needed. Let them know that it is okay to struggle, and they do not have to face their battles alone. Fill them with the knowledge that they are loved and valued, and that their emotions and mental health matter.

Renew their minds and replace negative thoughts with your truth. Holy Spirit give them clarity, wisdom and discernment in navigating their thoughts and emotions. May they experience your conditional love and acceptance as they anchor their identity in you, finding their worth and purpose in being your beloved sons. In Jesus mighty name I pray. Amen

Dear God, I am lifting all men in their work and career that you may guide them in their endeavors as they discover their potential and purpose in what they do. May they see their work as a calling from you, and, may they use their skills and abilities to make a positive impact in their workplace.

Holy Spirit grant them your wisdom and discernment in their decisions, and that you open doors of opportunity for them to excel in their careers. Equip them to be leaders and examples, showing integrity and humility in all they do.

Lord Jesus, surround them with supportive colleagues and mentors who will encourage and inspire them to reach their full potential. May they find joy in their work and be a blessing to those around them. This I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

Dear Lord, I am seeking your guidance and wisdom for the men who are leaders in this world. I pray that you would bless them with discernment and understanding so that they may make decisions that are just and fair. May they lead with humility, putting others before themselves and seeking the well-being of all.

Fill their hearts with compassion, that they may have a genuine care for the needs and struggles of those they govern. Help them to see the value and dignity in every individual, and to treat all with respect and love.

May they be leaders of agents of change, using their positions of influence to promote peace, justice and equity. May they lead with integrity and honesty, and may their actions inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Lord, surround these men in leadership with wise counsel, that they may seek wise advice and listen to the voices of those who are marginalized and oppressed. In your precious and powerful name, I pray, amen.
