We praise you today for being our heavenly Father. You were willing to pay any price to save us; are always ready to meet our needs; discipline us because of your desire for maturity in spirit; continue to do what is best for us, even when we reject you and turn away from your love; love
us despite our reaction and response to you; and have made us heirs, through Jesus Christ, preparing a home for us for all eternity.
We take comfort and strength from you, our heavenly Father.

O God, as we stand on the work of our fore-parents, we bask today in the light of your love. We wear the robe of Christ’s righteousness, for all the world to see. Today we rededicate ourselves to the task of continuing the legacy of the great men who have gone before us. To you, O God, we will be true and faithful. To our church, we will give our time, our talent,
our treasure, and share our testimony with a world longing for good news. To our community, we pledge our hearts and hands. We will stand together in your strength, imbued with your courage, in the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen. Hallelujah!

I trust in God, for, in the lion’s den,

On battlefield, or in the prison pen,

Thro’ praise or blame, thro’ flood or flame,

My heavenly Father watches over me.

I trust in God, I know he cares for me;

On mountain bleak or on the stormy sea;

Tho’ billows roll, he keeps my soul;

My heavenly Father watches over me.

*Hymn #144 vv. 3 & 4 (AAHH)
“My Father Watches Over Me”

Prayer for Men
Abba Father in heaven, we pray today for the many fathers around the world whose achievements have inspired and motivated us. We praise you that so many have overcome economic, political, and psychological obstacles to protect, love, and support their families. O
God of love remove all hatred, animosity, and anger from their souls and keep them from the snare of the enemy. Through Jesus Christ, we beg you to continue to pave the way to abundant love for those men who:

are struggling to provide for their families;
despair about finding safe shelter;
watch in anguish as their children starve;
desperately search for adequate medical care,
or safety from violence that surrounds them

Strengthen and encourage the men in our lives each day, Father God, as they seek to show their care for their families. Grant them grace and courage amid challenging circumstances and bless them with hope as they look toward the future. God of the ages, we turn to you because you
alone can provide for, redeem, renew, and regenerate the fathers of our land!

Watchword for the Week

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

Watchword for Today

Seek the Lord while he may be found, call upon him while he is near. Isaiah 55:6

Doctrinal Text

In Christ the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily. Colossians 2:9

Prayer for Today

Triune God, knowing both heavenly and earthly life, be ever-present in our lives, we pray. Walk with us daily so that we might know your peace, which transcends all understanding. Amen
